There is no doubt in saying that this is La Roja’s strongest team since 2012.

The UEFA Euro 2024 has reached the climax, as Spain will take on England in the final. If Spain beat England, it will be their fourth Euro title, making them the highest Euro title holders. Throughout the tournament, Spain have shown tremendous form, as they have dominated every team, reaching the final unbeaten.

La Roja faced two formidable opponents in the form of Germany and France during the quarter-final and semi-final respectively. They beat both 2-1, proving to be the most worthy contenders to hold the title.

Spain will face England, who are known for their last-minute goals and turning the game upside down. It will be a nail-biting clash between both teams.

Let’s look at the possible Spain lineup, Luis de la Fuente might opt against England in the final:

Spain’s predicted lineup against England (Formation: 4-2-3-1):

Goalkeeper: Umai Simon

Unai Simon, 27-year-old, has been the first-choice goalkeeper for Spain throughout the tournament. Right from the first match, he has been part of the playing XI and surely will be part of the team in the final as well. Spain’s manager De la Fuente seems to believe in him, as Simon was even part of the Spain team at the 2022 World Cup.

With many crucial saves, Simon has played an important part in bringing La Roja to this position and surely will play an important role in the final as well.

Right-Back: Dani Carvajal

Spain’s defence will again have Dani Carvajal in the final. Carvajal, after getting a red in the quarter-final against Germany, was suspended for the semi-final against France. Jesus Navas played in Carvajal’s position in the semis, but sustained an injury and was substituted.

As the Real Madrid full-back will be available for selection, he definitely will be playing in the final. Having him in the lineup adds more experience and rigidity to the team, as he is one of the best right-backs of his generation.

Centre-Back: Nacho

Another experienced player, Nacho, will be part of the defence in Spain’s side. Nacho has played the majority of the games at the tournament.

Robin Le Normand has also played in the same position, but Nacho should be the first-choice against England. He showed great play against Les Bleus in the semis, making him a prime choice for the final.

Centre-Back: Aymeric Laporte

Aymeric Laporte, a 30-year-old centre-back with amazing skills and talent, will surely be part of Spain’s starting XI. From the initial games, Laporte has been De la Fuente’s first-choice.

The Al-Nassr centre-back has played almost all the games throughout the tournament alongside Nacho. Laporte’s strength and decent speed will add more rigidity to Spain’s defence.

Left-Back: Marc Cucurella

A Chelsea star, Marc Cucurella has been Spain’s first-choice left-back throughout Euro 2024. He has hardly missed any games and will surely be part of the playing XI.

During the quarter-final against Germany, Cucurella was heavily booed by the German fans due to a controversial decision by the referee in a handball episode. However, he maintained his composure and will be the prime choice as a left-back against England.

Central Midfielder: Fabian Ruiz

Paris Saint-Germain star, Fabian Ruiz is a midfielder who can go from passing the ball around to creating an attack and even finishing it. Ruiz has scored twice at Euro 2024 and is definitely going to be a player to watch out for against the Three Lions in the final.

Mikel Merino is another choice for Spain, but Ruiz has been part of all important matches, like against Germany and France and therefore, De la Fuente could go with him.

Central Midfielder: Rodri

Rodri is one of the best defensive midfielders currently and holds a special place in the team. He is known for his strength and the surprising elements that he puts in every game.

De la Fuente should go for a mature and power-packed team against Gareth Southgate’s side and for that, Rodri is one of the main ingredients. Having him in the team will add an extra layer of defence and attack, at the same time.

Right Winger: Lamine Yamal

Lamine Yamal is the youngest player in the entire tournament. One of the most talented and influential players in the team, Yamal should definitely be the first-choice for La Roja.

His assists carried Spain to the final and his crucial goal against France, which changed the game, makes him a top priority. He is in tremendous form and has hardly missed a game.

Central Attacking Midfielder: Dani Olmo

Dani Olmo is one of the best and most influential players currently. He has scored for Spain at the most important times, like against France and Germany. In five matches, Olmo has scored thrice and assisted twice.

Olmo is the first-choice for De la Fuente and it is usually seen that he is substituted in later stages of the match for Mikel Merino.

Left Winger: Nico Williams

This certain 21-year-old has created an impact with his amazing skills, speed and agility. Nico Williams along with Yamal on the wings is a destructive combination for any opposition team. Williams has scored once and assisted once at Euro 2024.

Seeing his red-hot form, De la Fuente will have no doubt about starting him in the final. Martin Zubemendi is another choice, but he is usually called in as a substitute.

Striker: Alvaro Morata

Alvaro Morata, the captain of the Spain team, is likely to lead the team as the striker. His presence in the team adds more experience and intelligence. In the last match, he sustained a minor injury due to a pitch invader, however, he is expected to play against England with complete fitness.

Morata has scored once and assisted once at the tournament till now. A second choice for Spain is Mikel Oyarzabal, often called in as a substitute.
