La Roja are in Group E of the World Cup qualifiers.
Spain announced Rodri and Dani Carvajal as part of their team for the forthcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Turkey and Bulgaria. After missing time due to chronic knee ailments, both players were back playing for their clubs at the FIFA Club World Cup.
In their Group E opening, Spain will go to Bulgaria on September 4 and then to Turkey on September 7. The teams that will finish first and second will advance to the main competition to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico next summer. Georgia are the other country in the four-team group.

After having helped lead Spain to Euro 2024 victory, Rodri, a midfielder for Manchester City, was injured in September of that year after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament. He didn’t return until this summer’s Club World Cup.
Right-back for Real Madrid, Carvajal returned to action in July at the FIFA CWC tournament in the United States, after rupturing a knee ligament and a tendon in October 2024.
The squad includes FC Barcelona players Lamine Yamal and Pedri, as well as Fermin Lopez, who is being linked to leaving the Catalan powerhouse. However, goalkeeper Joan Garcia, who recently joined the team, was left off the roster.
