Spain and Saudi Arabia are facing each other for the second time in the FIFA World Cup.
The clash between Spain and Saudi Arabia is set to take place at the Atlanta Stadium in Georgia on Sunday, June 21. The clash is important for both sides because it will play a deciding role in their fate in the FIFA World Cup.
One of the top favourites, Spain, started their campaign with a goalless draw against World Cup debutants Cape Verde. While La Roja struggled to convert chances into goals, their defence and midfield did a great job of containing the oppositionβs attack and creating goal-scoring opportunities.
Meanwhile, one of Spainβs biggest concerns has been the fitness issues with Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal. Nico Williams has not got the green light from the fitness department. Yamal did a brief cameo for Luis de la Fuenteβs side against Cape Verde, too, but it was in vain as La Roja failed to break the deadlock.
The defending European champions also lacked creativity against Cape Verde, but with the introduction of Dani Olmo alongside Pedri in the midfield, they could solve the issue.
On the other hand, Saudi Arabia also started their campaign with a 1-1 draw against two-time champions Uruguay. The Green Falcons maintained a 1-0 lead for 80 minutes before Maxi Araujo finally scored the equaliser for Marcelo Bielsaβs side. Saudi Arabia will continue to play with a rigid backline while trying to restrict crosses and counterattacks.
