European teams will have a big chance of winning the tournament.

Despite being in existence for 25 years, the FIFA Club World Cup has never been as large as it will be during the 2025 edition.

Just weeks after the regular domestic club season ended, 32 teams from six confederations will compete in an extended version of the competition, which was first conducted in 2000 and has since grown in size and breadth. The football feast will be hosted in the United States.

Several of the biggest clubs in the world are scheduled to compete in the Club World Cup 2025. Some of the teams are already feverishly executing coaching changes and transfers in order to get ready for the Club World Cup 2025 tournament. It will begin on June 14 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami and end on July 13 in New Jersey.

The Opta prediction algorithm has compiled results and validated pre-tournament percentages after the supercomputer ran 10,000 simulations of the Club World Cup 2025 competition. So, let’s examine the predicted figures right away.

Opta Supercomputer predicts Club World Cup 2025 winners

The Club World Cup 2025 is favoured to be won by Paris Saint-Germain (18.5%) following their incredible Champions League victory last month.

Although the French team very narrowly defeated Premier League powerhouse Manchester City (17.8%), the Opta prediction model still ranks PSG as the most likely winner for their first-ever CWC participation.

These teams are among the “Big Six” candidates, which also includes Chelsea (8.4%), five-time winners Real Madrid (9.8%), UCL runners-up Inter Milan (12.3%), and German champions Bayern Munich (12.8%).

The other teams that have a realistic chance of making it to the final rounds of the Club World Cup 2025 are Borussia Dortmund, Atlético Madrid, Juventus, and Benfica.

Although European clubs are predicted to win the competition, Lionel Messi’s home team, Inter Miami, and star-studded Al-Hilal are thought to have the best chance of surprising the UEFA teams.

Benfica (3.3%) and Juventus (3.6%) are a bit further back, but they are still in the top 10 teams with the best chance of winning.

The top 11 most-favoured teams in Opta’s tournament projections are all from Europe, with Porto (0.6%) the only other team with a chance of winning greater than 0.5%. With only a 0.1% probability of winning, Salzburg are the only European team to finish further in the bottom half of the 32 teams.

The supercomputer believes that five international teams could have a successful competition in addition to the top group of eleven teams.

Al-Hilal are thought to be the most probable team to join Real Madrid in qualifying from that pool, and they could gain for having Salzburg in their group. In 55% of Opta’s simulations, they advanced to the knockout stage.

The odds of Inter Miami and Palmeiras winning Group A, where they will both play, are only 33.7%.

With a 19.7% possibility, River Plate have the best chance of making it to the quarterfinals. In contrast, Flamengo have a 51.8% chance of moving up from Group D.

Therefore, it might be worthwhile to take into account teams like Al Ahly, LAFC, Mamelodi Sundowns, Fluminense, and Monterrey if you’re searching for an unexpected underdog to rise from the bottom half of Opta’s Club World Cup 2025 rankings. These teams are all given a chance of more than one in three to advance to the knockout stage.
