Preview: Switzerland vs Canada prediction, odds, where to watch, time | FIFA World Cup 2026

The Red Crosses will take on the Canucks in Group B of FIFA World Cup 2026.

Switzerland will be looking for a vital win in Group B when they face host Canada on Wednesday afternoon in their final group match of the Group B in 2026 FIFA World Cup at the iconic BC Place. Both sides are in a great position to get the knockout place, but still, they will be hoping to finish as the table toppers. This final group game carries huge stakes for both teams.

The Swiss faced Qatar in the first game, and the game ended in a 1-1 scoreline. In the second game, they trashed Bosnia & Herzegovina by 4-1, and now they will lock horns against the host nation.

Overall, they have played some really good football, but sometimes they do show some overconfidence in their gameplay, which backfires on them. This final game will be key for them since it will decide who they will face in the knockout fixture.

On the other hand, Canada played out a draw against Bosnia in the first game, and trashed the Asian champions Qatar by 6-0. They showed their dominance throughout the match and played a very intense game. Quality-wise, the Swiss are a better side, but this fixture will surely be very intense as it carries huge importance on who is going to finish at the top. Jesse Marsch will be confident of his side delivering a positive result. This will be a mouthwatering clash for sure.

Players to Watch

Granit Xhaka (Switzerland)

Xhaka is the leader of the team. He was disappointed with their opening game performance against Qatar, and Xhaka was very upset about this. The Swiss side bounced back and beat Bosnia in a dominating fashion, and Xhaka had a great game.

His performance in the midfield was really good and surely fans can expect him to show his quality consistently. He had a great season with Sunderland in the Premier League, and he will be hungry to perform in a similar way for his National Team.

Jonathan David (Canada)

David didn’t have a great season with his club, and there were doubts regarding his performance. He proved those people wrong who doubted him, as he scored a brilliant hat-trick against Qatar, helping his team win by 6-0. His confidence will be very high going into this final group game. The stakes are high, and he is someone who can be a big headache for the Swiss team.
