Thiago Motta agrees to become next Juventus manager: Report

Thiago Motta has risen to prominence with Bologna this season

According to reports, Juventus have reached an agreement in principle to appoint Thiago Motta coach of Bologna as their next manager.

According to Calciomercato.com, Juventus and Thiago Motta, the head coach of Bologna, have struck a basic understanding. Motta is the front-runner and possibly the only contender to succeed Massimiliano Allegri in the upcoming campaign.

Although Allegri’s contract at the Allianz Stadium is just for one year, Calciomercato reports that Allegri will most likely depart Juventus at the end of the current campaign. Allegri is a native of Livorno.The Italian outlet claims the Old Lady and Motta have already shook hands, but it offers no specifics about the alleged agreement between the two.

The former Italy international’s employment with Bologna ends at the end of the current campaign, and he has declined to commit to the team for the long run. Two points behind the Old Lady, the Rossoblu are presently positioned fourth in the Serie A standings.

At the Stadio Dall’Ara, Bologna and Juventus will square off in the penultimate round of Serie A. Motta has been connected to the Manchester United position as well.

They are just behind to those aforementioned Nerazzurri with 38 points from 16 home games.Several athletes’ careers have changed dramatically as a result of Motta’s coaching. Reaching double figures in successive seasons is Riccardo Orsolini. Orsolini opened the score against Salernitana with an Arjen Robben-esque movement around from the right side and drove past goal with his left boot.
