The attacking player turned down the German club’s two contract offers.
After contract negotiations with Bayern Munich came to a standstill, Thomas Muller is expected to depart the team at the end of the 2024–25 campaign.
Muller is nearing the end of his current deal, having played his entire career for Bayern Munich. According to reports, the 35-year-old experienced footballer rejected two contract extension offers from the Bundesliga powerhouses.
According to Christian Falk of BILD, the German star is now anticipated to leave the Allianz Arena in the summer after negotiations between the two sides came to a standstill.
Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala, and Joshua Kimmich have all had their contracts successfully extended by the Bavarian powerhouses in the past few months.
Additionally, they managed to renew veteran goalie Manuel Neuer’s contract for another season. Nevertheless, Muller’s negotiations have come to a standstill.
Muller has been linked to a move to Major League Soccer in the United States and may think about leaving Europe this summer in order to continue his professional career. However, things could make a u-turn at the end, similar to Josha Kimmich, who was expected to leave the German club but ended up extending his deal with them.
With a long way to go before the season comes to an end, Muller might change his mood and renew his deal despite turning down Bayern’s last two contract offers.
The attacking player adds extra depth to the German club’s squad and has been important to their performance this season. He has been a regular starter this campaign for Bayern, appearing 35 times across all competitions.
Prior to playing Inter in the first leg of their Champions quarterfinal match on April 8, Vincent Kompany’s team will play Augsburg in the Bundesliga on April 4.
Bayern Munich will hope to win the Bundesliga this season under Kompany as they are top of the table with six points ahead of second-place Bayer Leverkusen after failing to lift the title last term.
