Toni Kroos will continue at Madrid for another year
According to transfer industry specialist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos will remain with the team for at least a further season. He signed an additional contract that keeps him in the Spanish capital through the summer of 2025.
The German international Kroos’ present contract was scheduled to expire next year, and he had said last week that he was unsure about his future plans. But it seems that his good performances this year and his ongoing importance to the team have persuaded him to stay longer.
A key member of Real Madrid’s midfield, Kroos has continuously improved games, cemented his place as the team’s unquestioned starter, and most recently made a comeback to the German national team.
Given that he will be difficult to replace once he opts for retirement, Los Blancos appreciate this contract, which represents Kroos’ belief that he may compete at the greatest level for the team.
The 34-year-old midfielder is enjoying a fantastic season, and Kroos has been persuaded by head coach Carlo Ancelotti that he will remain a vital member of the club in the next campaign.

Kroos had previously expressed his desire to end his career at the top of his game. In addition, he declared that he would not leave Real Madrid and relocate to Saudi Arabia or the US. It was suggested that following this season, Kroos might retire. Not to mention, Kroos decided last spring to rejoin the German national squad in order to compete at Euro 2024. The summer of 2021 was the last time he had participated in a national team game.
Kroos will concentrate on the task at hand, which is Tuesday night’s Champions League first-leg match between Real Madrid and RB Leipzig.
Los Blancos have a chance to solidify their narrowing hold on the title battle with advantageous forthcoming games against Rayo Vallecano, Sevilla, and Valencia after opening up a five-point lead over Girona atop La Liga. The last time Real Madrid won both La Liga and the Champions League in the same campaign was in 2021–2022, so Kroos might be hoping for a double.
