The Turkey national football team are all set to lock horns at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the USA. Their final list of players has been announced. It will be interesting to see their performances on the world stage.
They are coming in after recently securing a dominating 4-0 win against North Macedonia. It was a top performance by the Crescent Stars. This might have also helped Vincenzo Montella to finalise the 26-man roster for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The Turkey national football team are now returning to the grandest stage of them all after 24 years. They finished third during the 2002 edition of the mega competition. This is going to be their third-ever appearance in the flagship tournament.

Atakan Karazor
Atakan Karazor has been in a decent run of form this season for VfB Stuttgart. The 29-year-old has appeared only in two games for the Turkey national football team. Experienced options like Orkun Kokcu and Hakan Calhanoglu got the nod from coach Vincenzo Montella.

Demir Ege Tıknaz
The SC Braga midfielder is not going to represent Turkey at FIFA’s flagship tournament. The reason for Demir Ege Tıknaz’s omission can be the competition for places. Stars like Hakan Calhanoglu are far more experienced and can do a better job in controlling the midfield.
Aral Şimşir
With 33 goal contributions in 54 games, the 23-year-old winger did put in some good performances for his club, FC Midtjylland, this season. Aral Şimşir has still not received a call-up and isn’t included in Turkey’s final squad for the World Cup. Head Coach Vincenzo Montella prioritised stars like Kenan Yildiz and Kerem Akturkoglu.
Ersin Destanoğlu
Even though he was included in Turkey’s preliminary squad, Ersin Destanoğlu is not going to be a part of the Crescent Stars for the FIFA World Cup 2026. He is yet to make a debut for the Turkey national football team. The goalkeeper’s performances have not been good enough this season for his club, Besiktas.
