Turkey are set for a World Cup return after 24 years.

The largest sporting event of the year, the 2026 FIFA World Cup, has finally arrived. The USA, Canada and Mexico are hosting the much-awaited tournament. It features a record 48 teams instead of the transitional 32, giving more opportunities to lesser-known participating nations.

The Turkey national football team are all set for a historic return to the World Cup after the 2002 edition, where they exceeded all expectations to secure third place. They will begin their campaign against Australia at BC Place in Vancouver, Canada.

The nation’s most crucial player will undoubtedly be Hakan Çalhanoğlu. He is also set to captain the side in the competition.

The Inter Milan midfielder has been the main anchor of the nation over the years. He consistently utilises his world-class vision and exceptional recovery to his maximum advantage.

Vincenzo Montella will lead Turkey for the first time in a major global tournament. He impressively guided the Crescent Stars through a dramatic qualification campaign. They narrowly defeated Kosovo 1-0 to secure their World Cup spot.
