Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) confirmed a commercial arrangement to broadcast the FIFA World Cup 2026. It is a relief for fans as it will eventually be telecast in India.
The Zee Group will broadcast the competition on its four recently established channels, while ZEE5 will live-stream the World Cup online.
Less than two weeks before the tournament begins, the news was made. The quadrennial extravaganza is set to take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada between June 11 and July 19.
The Indian media conglomerate, which has already televised various sports, is now working on the World Cup’s streaming and broadcast work.
Earlier concerns were raised over the 2026 FIFA World Cup telecast in China and India, two of the world’s most populous nations and major priorities for both FIFA and broadcasters.
On May 12, 2026, the Delhi High Court summoned the Centre and Prasar Bharati to reply to a petition requesting the broadcast of the FIFA World Cup 2026. It was because no broadcaster had been able to obtain the broadcasting rights for months.

The tournament’s official broadcast rights are held by Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited. The following channels will carry the matches:

- In Bangla – Zee Bangla Sonar
- In Malayalam – Zee Keralam
- In English – Unite 8 Sports 2
