Two unidentified Premier League players detained for alleged rape allegations
Both players have been suspended by their club
The football team of two Premier League players, who were both detained in connection with a police rape investigation, has reportedly suspended them.
The two 19-year-old unidentified football players, who play for the same team, were taken into custody over the weekend following the purported victim’s police report.
Before being formally detained after leaving the premises, a 19-year-old player was allegedly spoken to by police on accusations of violence and helping to facilitate a rape at the club stadium.
After being held overnight, he was cautiously questioned by police. The other player, a 19-year-old, was questioned by police after being taken into custody the next day on rape-related charges.
According to authorities, both players were subsequently freed on bond while additional inquiries were conducted. It is said that the alleged victim made contact with police and lodged a formal complaint hours after the alleged rape on Friday night.

‘Officers have arrested two men following a report of a rape.
‘A 19 year-old man was arrested on Saturday (20 April) on suspicion of assault and aiding and abetting a rape. A second 19-year-old man was arrested on Sunday (21 April) on suspicion of rape.
‘Both men have since been released on police bail.’
“As the matter is now in the hands of the police, the Football Club will not be making further comment at this stage,” a club spokeswoman told The Sun yesterday.
A source informed the newspaper that police officers met with the football player in a separate room after showing up at the stadium. The player was reportedly caught that evening after leaving with a different person.
The Premier League has previously been the focus of a police inquiry about an alleged rape. In October 2022, Mason Greenwood, a 22-year-old striker for Manchester United, was indicted with assault, coercive behaviour, and attempted rape.
Following the withdrawal of important witnesses, the case against him was later abandoned in February 2023. Greenwood refuted each and every accusation made against him.
