Many football nicknames for clubs and nations have become so synonymous and well-known amongst fans over the years. The nicknames are often based on the nation’s kit colours or on the badges as well. Many nicknames have a more compassionate or affectionate meaning as well which is directly related to a nation. Almost every football club in the world as well have nicknames given by fans on the basis of their crest and badge.

Manchester United are called Red Devils because of their distinctive red jersey and devil incorporated in jerseys and every apparel. There are various other examples and similarly many National teams have nicknames as well based on their heritage, crest and jersey colours.

The Union Of European Football Association organises the primary association football tournament famously known as the Euros. The Euros 2024 is set to start in June with 24 nations placed in 6 groups of 4 nations. Each group will comprise of 4 nations which will face each other in a single-legged match. The competition will proceed to enter a knockout phase after the group stage ends.

Let’s take a look at the nicknames of the national teams in the Euros 2024.

Group A

Scotland – The Tartan Army

Hungary – Magyarok (Hungarians)
