Unai Emery set to extend his Aston Villa contract until 2027
The Spanish manager was on the radar of many clubs to become their next manager
Unai Emery’s contract at Aston Villa has reportedly been extended until 2027 due to outside interest.
The 52-year-old Spaniard, who joined Villa Park in October 2022 after leaving Villarreal, has made a tremendous impression. Emery led them to a seventh-place finish and Europa Conference League qualification after taking control of a team that was only one point above the relegation zone.
In actuality, Villa amassed 49 points from 25 games from the time of his hiring to the end of the previous season, an all-time high that was surpassed by Man City, Arsenal, Man United, and Liverpool.
Aston Villa have advanced to the Europa Conference League semifinals and is on track to qualify for the Champions League this season. With four games remaining, they lead Tottenham by six points, despite the fact that Spurs have two games in hand.
Because of his outstanding body of work, Unai Emery was linked to numerous positions throughout Europe, including one at Bayern Munich. However, in a huge move for Villa, The Athletic reports that Emery has chosen to dedicate his future to the team.

This is a serious setback for Bayern, who have already had two of their top targets, Julian Nagelsmann and Xabi Alonso, turn down employment offers and pledge their careers to Germany and Bayer Leverkusen, respectively.
According to the Athletic report, Aston Villa wants to talk to Emery about a longer contract in the summer because their owners, Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, who have made large financial investments recently think the Spaniard can emulate Sir Alex Ferguson at United.
Despite his difficulties at Old Trafford, Sky Germany stated that the German giants are reportedly planning to turn to former Man United temporary manager Ralf Rangnick.
They even assert that Bayern and Rangnick, who has shown promise since taking over as Austria’s manager in 2022, have already held talks. Emery has managed the Villans for 77 games, compiling an incredible record of 44 victories.
