USA are one of the host nations of the World Cup.
Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed his USA squad that will lead the host nation in the tournament as the FIFA World Cup 2026 approaches.
There have been many notable call-ups and omissions by Pochettino. The former Tottenham manager has selected his ideal roster that will play in the tournament.
The squad includes three players who were left off the 2022 World Cup roster: forward Ricardo Pepi, who was largely regarded as one of the final cuts from that 2022 squad; centre back Miles Robinson, who missed the Qatar World Cup due to an Achilles injury; and centre back Chris Richards, who also missed out due to injury.
Meanwhile, the USA have fared poorly under Pochettino. They will be looking to make amends in the competition as they gear up for the elite tournament.
Before heading to Southern California and their World Cup base camp in Irvine, California, the United States will play two farewell friendlies: one against Senegal in Charlotte on May 31 and another against Germany in Chicago on June 6. On June 12, the group stage will begin with a match against Paraguay at SoFi Stadium outside of Los Angeles.
USA will then return to action on June 19 at Seattle’s Lumen Field against Australia before concluding on June 25 at SoFi against Turkey.
