Mauricio Pochettino will guide the USA national team (USMNT) into a pivotal month of games. They will attempt to create history by making a deep run at this competition for the first time, with the tournament starting on June 11.
The only time the U.S. men’s team has advanced to the quarterfinals of a modern FIFA World Cup was in 2002. They had defeated Mexico in the Round of 16 to get there. The USMNT team has never won a World Cup Round of 16 match against a non-CONCACAF opponent.

When will USMNT announce the official squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026?
In a live ceremony in New York City on Tuesday, May 26, at 3 p.m., USA time, the United States will reveal its 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.
According to FIFA standards, World Cup-contending teams are required to submit a provisional roster of players by May 11 and their final, whittled-down list by June 1.
Up to 24 hours prior to their first planned tournament game, teams may alter their roster due to fitness or injury. FIFA must receive medical documentation supporting the withdrawal for permission.
Any replacement would need to be made by June 12 because the USMNT’s Group D opener against Paraguay is scheduled for June 13 in Inglewood, California.

Their first game is on 13th June, 6:30 am IST.

On May 26.
