Jose Mourinho wanted to sell Bastian Schweinsteiger from the club
Due to his use of personal doctors to treat injuries, Bastian Schweinsteiger has disclosed that Jose Mourinho has barred him from the Manchester United dressing room and had him train with the team’s U16 squad. The news “stunned and embarrassed” Gary Neville, who denounced Mourinho and John Murtough for their “illegal” behaviour.
In the summer of 2015, Louis van Gaal brought Schweinsteiger back to Manchester United from Bayern Munich for an estimated £6.5 million.
The seasoned midfield player found it difficult to contribute at Old Trafford, particularly when Van Gaal was fired a year later.
Less than two years after signing a three-year contract, Mourinho approved his departure to join Chicago Fire in March 2017. He later acknowledged that his treatment of the German football legend was regrettable.
Schweinsteiger described an instance of harassment in 2016 while Mourinho and his team were on a pre-season trip in the United States in a conversation with Neville that was published by The Overlap on Thursday.

On my birthday, when I walked into Carrington [training ground], John Murtough was there and said that I wasn’t allowed to walk into the dressing room. The coach had said so. No warning, nothing,” Schweinsteiger explained.
I don’t know [why he told me]. Someone could have told me there [on my first day of training] or explained it to me in a normal way, but okay, I went to the youth dressing room and trained with the U16s.
“Yes, completely [kicked me out of the first team dressing room], so I had to ask him [Murtough] to bring me my cleats and training gear. I asked him who I was training with, and he said there was the U16 team, so I went and trained with the U16s.”
After asking for a meeting with Mourinho, Schweinsteiger continued, the Portuguese manager said that he thought the midfield player wasn’t content at United because he had undergone rehabilitation with German physicians.
The World Cup champion stated that he was remaining in touch with the club doctors and dropping in at Carrington on weekends in accordance with the same arrangement he had with Van Gaal.
