The United States men’s national soccer team are gearing up for their opening 2026 FIFA World Cup contest against the Paraguay national football team on June 12. The match is all set to take place at the Los Angeles Stadium.
Being one of the co-hosts is surely going to give Mauricio Pochettino’s side a slight advantage from the start. They are coming in after securing decent results in their international friendly encounters ahead of the flagship tournament.
The final 26-man contingent to represent the USA on the world stage features some renowned names like Christian Pulisic, Folarin Balogun and Weston McKennie.
After their opening World Cup game against Paraguay, the United States men’s national soccer team are all set to take on Australia and Turkiye. It is not the easiest group stage for them, but they will be eager to fight their way through.

Donald Trump called the USMNT
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, is not going to be present for USA’s opening World Cup encounter against Paraguay, but has boosted the squad’s morale with a phone call.
During the phone call Trump mentioned that Mauricio Pochettino is a “fantastic guy”.
“I hear all about your record, your success, how great the players are. I think you’ve got a really good chance of going all the way,” Trump said.
“So I just want to wish you a lot of luck.”
USMNT’s head coach Pochettino replied to President Trump and said, “Thank you so much for your support, Mr President. We are going to do everything to make you proud and all the people here in this country.”
This support from the country’s President is surely going to be helpful for the United States Football Team.
