Miami will be back in MLS action very soon

Inter Miami’s run during the Club World Cup 2025 was nothing but a courageous step towards a global stage, with Lionel Messi orchestrating their attack and helping them reach the round of 16.

However, it was least expected from them to put up a great fight after their group consisted of some big giants such as Porto and Palmeiras.

However, the Herons demonstrated their quality on the pitch and made a bold statement of intent from the MLS side when they beat Porto in their second group stage game and were on the verge of achieveing consecutive wins, when they put two past Palmeiras, before the Brazilian club recovered and held them to a 2-2 draw.

But Miami’s Club World Cup journey culminated in a heartbreaking defeat when they faced PSG, who inflicted a 4-0 defeat on them. It was a tournament for the MLS side to remember as they left the competition as one of the best underdog teams.

However, their season still isn’t over as they are set to return to MLS action. The Herons are currently seventh in the league table of the Eastern Conference and will hope to climb back to the top of the table.

When will Lionel Messi return to action again for Inter Miami?

Following a week of rest, Lionel Messi is expected to return to action for Miami in their Major League Soccer game against Montreal tomorrow.

The Argentine did his best to help the Herons go deep into the competition, but their lack of competitive level was laid bare when they faced the European champions PSG in the knockout stage, highlighting the gap in quality and experience.

Nonetheless, Messi’s season isn’t over as he still has trophies to win with the League Cup and the Supporters’ Shield that could salvage his season and also reaffirm his impact on American soil.

It remains to be seen if the club will allow the forward to rest or employ him against Montreal tomorrow.
