Who scored the first goal at Inter Miami’s Nu Stadium?

Messi isn’t the first player to score at the Herons’ new stadium.

10 minutes into Saturday night’s game, Lionel Messi scored his first goal at Nu Stadium, Inter Miami FC’s new home. However, it was insufficient to win against Austin FC.

The game ended 2-2, meaning co-owner David Beckham’s team was unable to get closer to Nashville, the league leaders in the MLS Eastern Conference.

Guilherme Biro scores the first goal at Miami’s new stadium

The first goal at Inter Miami’s new stadium was not scored by Messi. After six minutes, Austin FC defender Guilherme Biro scored, earning him this honour.

Messi (38) levelled the score with a well-placed header just four minutes later, and he celebrated the goal in front of the stand.

In the final moments, Inter Miami were able to avoid losing. Luis Suárez, 39, came on and a few minutes later, the Uruguayan striker scored with a volley to settle the game with a 2-2 scoreline.

In the draw, it wasn’t Messi who would get the honour for scoring the first goal in the new stadium. But the Argentine managed to inspire the club to a draw rather than picking up a defeat at the brand new arena.

Miami were a better side for the better half of the game, but fluffed their chances and endured a disappointing draw. As it was just the first match at the new stadium, the club will now hope to achieve their first win in the stadium in the upcoming matches.

Who scored the first goal at Inter Miami’s new stadium?

Austin FC star Guilherme Biro.

What’s the name of the club’s new stadium?

It is named Nu Stadium, and is based in Miami, Florida.
