Why is Edu leaving Mikel Arteta's Arsenal? Real reason revealed

The Brazilian has been a key part of Arsenal’s rebuild and recent success
Edu Gaspar has supplied the gasoline for Arsenal’s thrilling transformation if Mikel Arteta has been the driving force.
Edu has been the main reason behind the club’s dominance in the league and turning them into a competitive side by bringing quality players.
Under Arteta and Edu, Arsenal are in hot water. The news of the Brazilian sporting director leaving Emirates will thus come as a shock.
Uncertainty will increase. It is evident and widely known that Edu had a significant impact in turning around a team that was actually in bad shape before Arsene Wenger’s departure in 2018.
A team full of costly underachievers has been replaced with eager football players who have helped the team overcome its slump.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mesut Özil have departed. Arsenal are currently entering a new phase under the leadership of Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.
Edu’s 2019 arrival, initially in the role of technical director, rekindled memories of Arsenal’s illustrious history.
After all, the former midfield player was a member of Arsenal’s Invincibles team, which won two FA Cups and two Premier League crowns. However, his achievements as an Arsenal administrator are equally as valuable as his on-field successes.
Why Edu is leaving after turning Arsenal into a dominant side in the Premier League?
According to people familiar with the matter, Edu’s influence has been somewhat diminished behind the scenes.
Tim Lewis, the family lawyer for owner Stan Kroenke, is rumoured to have gained more clout after joining the Arsenal board in 2020 as a non-executive director. Lewis is the Kroenkes’ eyes and ears, thus his influence should not be undervalued.
When Richard Garlick was elevated to the position of chief executive officer earlier this year, he took on greater responsibility. Garlick joined the club in 2021 as director of football operations.
Edu would have suffered a setback when Vinai Venkatesham, who collaborated closely with him, left his position as CEO.
There was a feeling that Edu could have been destined to succeed Venkatesham because of his influence in transforming the team’s football operations, but Garlick, who has a solid name in English football, ultimately took over.
Edu has developed into one of European football’s most successful sports directors. It is reasonable to assume that he wished for more power.
Sources claim that at the beginning of the summer, there was a growing feeling that Edu was getting restless. That the position might not have offered the South American the degree of challenge he desired, and that he had become stale at Arsenal.
The appeal of football’s new trend toward multi-club structures is thought to have a role in this as well. Ego is typically the driving force behind football. For the finest of the best, why manage only one club when you can manage several?
Edu acknowledged earlier this year the allure of holding a powerful role under a multi-club umbrella. For example, early this year, former Bournemouth CEO Neill Blake resigned to work for the club’s owners, Black Knight, who also hold shares in Hibernian and Auckland FC.
The Greek millionaire is reportedly attempting to expand his collection of clubs by adding another European team. Since the summer, Forest have been interested in Edu, and clandestine conversations have taken place.
