Thus making him more than likely to feature for Argentina in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers which includes two crucial games. They will host Peru at La Bombonera in Buenos Aires on Tuesday, November 19, after visiting Paraguay at the Defensores del Chaco Stadium in Asuncion on Thursday, November 14.

Lionel Messi and his side could get even closer to guaranteeing their place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup if they have good performances during this international break. Although this would be great news for Argentina, Messi has not yet stated whether he will play in the 2026 tournament because he will be 39 years old at the time.
