Messi failed to score in the Herons’ previous game midweek.
In an attempt to win the league game for the fifth time in a row, Inter Miami will return to MLS action tonight after losing to Los Angeles FC in the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
Even though they have played one fewer game than any other squad, Javier Mascherano’s team are currently second. They are the clear favourite going into their next matchup against a team that hasn’t won any of their six games this season.
This game will present a better chance to get their confidence back following the midweek defeat. The Herons, who are second in the MLS Eastern Conference, will be hoping for a fifth consecutive victory in this match to get back to winning ways following a disappointing midweek performance.
Lionel Messi has maintained his scoring streak in back-to-back 2-1 victories over Atlanta United and Philadelphia Union—the latter goal coming just two minutes after his introduction.
After missing Argentina’s most recent World Cup qualifying matches due to injury, Lionel Messi made his comeback in MLS last week. Recently, he scored the game-winning goal in Inter Miami’s 2-1 victory over Philadelphia Union after coming off the bench.
Will Messi play tonight?
Yes, Messi will be in the starting lineup to play tonight. The forward failed to find the back of the net in the midweek game against LAFC but will hope to return to the scoresheet when they host Toronto.
Messi has been in red-hot form in all the competitions since the start of the new season. Despite missing a few matches due to injuries and fitness issues, he has still managed to influence the games whenever he has featured.
Meanwhile, Inter Miami will hope to return to the top of the table with a game in hand as they are second with 13 points in the Eastern Conference.
