The Spanish head coach has recieved two-game suspension.

After receiving his sixth yellow card of the season during Manchester City’s 3-1 FA Cup victory against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park, Pep Guardiola faces a two-match suspension.

The Man City manager was booked when arguing with fourth official Lewis Smith about an on-field call when Kieran Trippier fouled Jeremy Doku.

New rules have been implemented this season for Premier League coaches. Three yellow cards result in a one-game suspension, and six yellow cards result in a two-game punishment.

Pep Guardiola is not concerned about not being on the sidelines for City’s forthcoming Champions League last-16 encounter against Real Madrid because European games are free from the ban. However, what about domestic games?

Pep Guardiola will undoubtedly miss City’s upcoming Premier League game on Saturday, March 14, against West Ham United. However, the next league match against Crystal Palace that was originally planned has been rescheduled. This is due to the fact that City’s second domestic match during Guardiola’s ban will be against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final on March 22.

The good news for City, though, is that cup finals—like European matches—are not subject to the suspension rules. The manager will be on the sidelines for the match against Arsenal at Wembley stadium.

This means that Pep Guardiola’s second match ban will take place in the FA Cup quarterfinal, which is scheduled for the weekend of April 4-5. However, City’s opponents are yet unclear.

For which games is Pep Guardiola banned?

He is set to miss games against West Ham, while the second game is yet to be decided.

When is the Carabao Cup final?

It’s on 22nd March.

When did Guardiola get his sixth yellow card of the season?

In the 3-1 FA Cup victory over Newcastle United on Saturday, 7 March.
