Top five female football stars to watch at Paris Olympics 2024
Renowned football players will have a big role to play for their nations at the Paris Olympics.
Many of the top players from the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia, which created a global sensation less than a year ago, will return; this time to Paris Olympics in 2024, which will serve as the global football hub, with 12 teams vying for the gold medal.
World champions Spain are one of the favourites to win, even though they will be competing in their first Olympics in the French city, while the United States, who have always been dominant, will be seeking vengeance for their worst-ever World Cup performance.

4. Racheal Kundananji (Zambia)
On the pitch, Racheal Kundananji is a formidable opponent. the 38-year-old has won eight of the nine Copa Americas since 1991.
Kundananji recently signed for a hefty $788,00 transfer from Spanish side Madrid CFF to the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) expansion team Bay FC. Her expertise and ability will be very important to Zambia if they want to succeed at the Olympics.

3. Lindsey Horan (USA)
As captain, Lindsey Horan will bring her extensive array of expertise to the forefront and guide the USA squad. With four gold, two silver, and one bronze medal in Olympic women’s football, the USA have a storied history in the sport.
Horan, who played for the Portland Thorns in the NWSL for seven years before moving back to France to play for Lyon, will be crucial to the United State’s chances of winning another Olympic medal.
2. Aitana Bonmati (Spain)
Aitana Bonmati has been performing incredibly well; she was just declared the 2023 Ballon d’Or winner. Her spectacular exploits enabled Spain to defeat England 1-0 and win the 2023 World Cup in Australia.
As the best player in the competition, Bonmati received the Golden Ball award in recognition of her role in her team’s victory. Her ability to play in the middle and her vision makes her a vital member of Spain’s squad for the 2024 Olympics.

With no outside distractions, Spain are poised to make history by becoming the first team to win both the Olympic Gold Medal and the World Cup. Alexia Putellas, who has been instrumental in leading LA Roja, will be joining Bonmati in hoping to guide Spain to the Gold Medal.
The top-ranked Spaniards will be making their Olympic debut, but they have experience winning big tournaments, having won the Nations League and the World Cup the year before.
