The fifth ever encounter between Sweden and Tunisia will take place at the Monterrey Stadium in Mexico on Monday, June 15th.

Sweden took a highly controversial route to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Despite finishing bottom of their qualifying group, they secured a playoff spot based on their League C Nations League finish. Then they secured wins over Ukraine and Poland to book their spot in the football’s biggest tournament. They played a 2-2 draw against Greece leading up to the tournament.

Tunisia, on the other hand are coming into this World Cup on the back of three winless games as they faced the likes of Belgium, Austria, and Canada. Tunisia secured their place at the World Cup after going undefeated in their qualifying group, and they made history by keeping clean sheets in all 10 games.
