USA vs Australia Kick-off time in India, USA, UK, Australia & more for FIFA World Cup 2026

Both sides are set for the first-ever World Cup meeting.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup, football’s most elite competition, is currently underway with its second round of fixtures. Co-hosted by the USA, Mexico, and Canada, the tournament features a record 48 nations, with the stakes rising with each matchup.

The newest edition has seen a new trend where overlooked nations have made a massive impact, especially the tournament hosts. Amongst such nations is the USA, which will be taking on Australia in the highly anticipated Group D clash at Seattle Stadium in Washington, USA.

The USA will have to make a huge impact after a mediocre 2022 campaign in Qatar, where they successfully advanced from their group before ultimately falling to the Netherlands in the Round of 16.

The team will have huge expectations after a dominant display in their opening fixture against Paraguay, winning the game 4-1. The meeting will be historic as both sides are set for their first-ever World Cup clash, adding to the overall stakes.

Head coach Mauricio Pochettino has been tasked with guiding the golden generation of the side to their best-ever World Cup finish, aiming to make complete use of the home advantage on football’s biggest stage.

The USA are placed in Group D of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, considered a highly competitive route for the North American side. They currently lead the group alongside Australia, competing ahead of Turkey and Paraguay for a top-two spot to qualify automatically to the knockout stages.

Australia, who are marking their sixth consecutive tournament appearance, are aiming to build upon their Round of 16 finish in the 2022 edition. They secured their spot after a gruelling AFC qualification campaign, finishing at the top of their qualifier group.

The side had an excellent start to the campaign, achieving a 2-0 win against Turkey against all odds, with winger Nestory Irankunda creating history by becoming the youngest player to score in the World Cup for an Asian nation at the age of 20.
