F1 went into the summer break following the Belgian GP on July 30.
As much as Formula 1 revolves around drivers and cars, pit stops also play a crucial role, often determining the outcome of a race. Now, let’s take a look at the top 10 fastest pit stops in F1 2023 season so far.
10. Charles Leclerc: 2.18 seconds at Belgian GP
Clocking in at 2.18 seconds during the Belgian GP, Ferrari, a team often criticized for lacklustre strategies and weak pit stops, demonstrated their endurance. This swift pit stop not only saved Charles Leclerc valuable time but also secured him a valuable third-place finish in the race.
9. Sergio Perez: 2.15 seconds at Monaco GP
Red Bull racing has been a formidable force in the 2023 season, winning every race so far. However, their pit stops have also been nothing short of extraordinary, as showcased by Sergio Perez’s 2.15-second pit stop at the 2023 Monaco GP. Although a fast pit stop is what he needed to push for points, he still finished 16th in the race.
8. Lando Norris: 2.15 seconds at Hungarian GP
During the Hungarian GP, Lando Norris’ 2.15-second pit stop wasn’t the swiftest, yet it played a pivotal role in challenging Max Verstappen for the lead and fending off Checo Perez.
7. Carlos Sainz: 2.14 seconds at Hungarian GP
The Hungarian GP witnessed an array of rapid pit stops, and Carlos Sainz’s 2.14-second stop kept him in pace with teammate Charles Leclerc and held the formidable Fernando Alonso at bay.

5. Charles Leclerc: 2.10 seconds at Saudi Arabian GP
The Saudi Arabian GP is one of the most exciting races of the season, thanks in part due to the narrow streets and challenging corners. As a result, track position and pit stops are a big part of the race, and Charles Leclerc’s 2.10-second pit stop not only allowed him to join the race back in P7 when he pitted at P6 but also helped him to finish fifth.
4. Lando Norris: 2.10 seconds at Austrian GP
The Austrian GP saw the rise of the old dominant McLaren, where the team put up an all-around effort and took the fight to Red Bull. Although Max Verstappen still emerged victorious, Lando Norris’ 2.10-second pit stop at the Austrian GP helped him to keep the pressure on Verstappen throughout the race.
3. Sergio Perez: 2.07 seconds at Spanish GP
Clocking in the fastest pit stop at the Spanish GP, Checo Perez’s 2.07-second stop enabled him to rejoin the race without losing position and secured a commendable second-place finish.
2. Oscar Piastri: 2.01 seconds at Hungarian GP
Next up on the list is Oscar Piastri’s 2.01-second pit stop at the Hungarian GP. Although Piastri could not take advantage of the fast pit stop as he slipped into the 5th position, the fast stop once again highlighted McLaren’s newfound strength.
1. Sergio Perez: 1.98 seconds at Hungarian GP
Securing the top spot is Red Bull’s Sergio Perez, who achieved a remarkable 1.98-second pit stop at the Hungarian GP. This feat not only marked the sole sub-two-second pit stop of the 2023 season but also allowed Perez to successfully defend from Lewis Hamilton.
