No release date announced yet!
It appears that Amazon’s God of War live-action series might be preparing for another casting change for Season 2. This is for the older version of Atreus and Thrud.
The production is currently delayed due to lead actor Ryan Hurst, who was set to portray Kratos, suffering a severe biceps injury. This has forced the production team to recast the role and to push back filming.
Older Versions of Atreus and Thrud are reportedly being cast
According to MP1ST, Amazon is looking for teenage actors who could portray the older versions of Atreus and Thrud in God of War live-action series Season 2.
This project used the codename “Joshua” for Atreus during Season 1 casting, while Thrud was referred to as “Ruth.”
The new casting calls are looking to seek performers between 14 and 17 years old, which is quite a noticeable jump from the 9 to 12-year-old age range used for Season 1.
This also suggests that we might see a time-skip as the season adapts to God of War Ragnarok events.
Season 2 may adapt Ragnarök
According to reports, the character description suggests that Atreus has matured following his journey with Kratos. He is now determined to uncover the truth behind his destiny.
Thrud is described as being a very confident but emotionally complex warrior.
Although she is not particularly close to her parents, she is very close to her grandfather, Odin, and is hoping to someday take on the role of king.
These description details suggest that Amazon has plans to move directly into the Ragnarok storyline for season 2.
