Positivity among the developers
Not only for the die-hard fans of the franchise but even for the developers and Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed Shadows release is a very big deal. As the game approaches release, the excitement within the production team is visible, with one key animator, Dan G, pronouncing it the start of a “new era” for the franchise.
The game has already been delayed previously and will finally be released on February 14, 2025. Let’s check out more details in this article.
A new chapter begins for Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Dan G shares his excitement on Twitter, particularly highlighting a mini-game feature. Despite his busy schedule, he was very personally involved with this project.
His statement, “The new era of Assassin’s Creed is arriving,” underscores the game’s significance not just as another entry but as a transformative moment for the series.
This is not the first time Ubisoft has announced a new direction for Assassin’s Creed. Assassin’s Creed Origins, released in 2017, was positioned as the first installment of an RPG-focused trilogy that featured Odyssey and Valhalla, dramatically altering the gameplay.
With Shadows, the company appears to be continuing this evolutionary trend, potentially laying the groundwork for future projects. This time, they are heading for the old and Japanese culture similar to the Ghost of Tsushima.
Shadows will also use current-generation console features, such as ray tracing, to improve visuals and gameplay dynamics. Ubisoft has experienced criticism and commercial issues with recent releases, making Assassin’s Creed Shadows an important title for the company’s future. The game’s success might change Ubisoft’s fortunes, especially given the uneven reception of prior games.

Even Jason Schreier has recently reported in his Bloomberg article that, “The release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows could tell us a lot. If it’s a hit, Ubisoft will have more time as the Guillemot family sorts out the company’s future. But if it flops, we might see a drastic reorganization happen very quickly, be it a buyout or a sale.”
From all the gameplay and trailer that Ubisoft has released so far, the game looks pretty good. Only the full game launch will now tell us how well this game has been made and whether fans are enjoying it or not.
