Open-world melee combat game
The recent years for Rocksteady Studios have not been so well when it comes to their recent games. Especially we are talking about the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. But right now, it seems the studio wants to return back to the Batman Arkham series revival.
A recent job description suggests a game that fans may recognize: melee combat in a wide-open world. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Job listing revelations
Recently, Rocksteady Studios has listed a vacancy for a Game Director on Warner Bros. Discovery’s careers website lists criteria such as “strong design leadership and experience across multiple genres, particularly third-person action, melee brawlers, and open world traversal games.”
The fans were easily able to guess that this gameplay description closely aligns with the Arkham series which was a huge hit. Rumors and leaks are already going around the industry that the studio’s next project will indeed be a Batman game.
Despite the excitement, fans should keep their expectations in check; the game is still several years away from release, and there is currently no official game director on board, indicating that it is still in the early phases of production.
However, there isn’t that much hype or excitement among the fans after the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. It seems like this might be the studio’s desperate struggle to cover up the loss with a return to the past series.

There is no doubt that any Batman game will be huge and fans will have a lot of expectations. If these rumors and leaks are true, Rocksteady Studios really needs to step up in the game. They have to deliver the Cleveland Cavaliers’ comeback performance in the finals of the 2016 NBA.
With a great Game Director, good storytelling, combat and gameplay, the British studio might revive the Batman Arkham series. What are your thoughts on this information? Do share your views with us in the comment section.
