We are a week and a few more days away from the Nintendo Switch 2 launch and fans are pretty excited for this handheld console.

Along with the launch of the console, we are going to see some amazing first-day launch titles for the console as well.

In this article, we will talk about the best five games that you should consider buying for your Switch 2 on day one.

5. Switch 2 games: Split Fiction

One of the best games from Hazelight Studio, which was released on March 6, 2025, will be arriving on Switch 2 on day one, June 5, 2025.

Hazelight is known for their co-op games and this game is yet another masterpiece by them. Currently rated as 91 by Metacritic, this game is a strong contender for GOTY 2025.

Mio and Zoe are two different writers – one writes sci-fi and the other writes fantasy – who become caught in their own stories after being linked up to a contraption designed to steal their creative concepts.

4. Mario Kart World

The game, which created a lot of controversy for being priced at $79.99, Mario Kart World is exclusive and kind of must buy Switch 2 games for Mario fans.

3. The Legend of Zelda

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom Switch 2 edition is a must-buy game for Nintendo fans.

It would be a crime if you didn’t play this game on Switch 2 with upgraded graphics and much smoother gameplay.

Breath of the Wild even won the Game of the Year 2018 and both titles are highly critically praised. If you haven’t played any Zelda games, then you must try this out.

Cyberpunk 2077 looks amazing and is running very good on Switch 2. This is a must-buy game on day one and will become one of the best edge runners in the game.

The sci-fi futuristic open world will blow your mind off, with some amazing story, combat, gameplay and music.

1. Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut

One of the best games from the Yakuza series is arriving on Switch 2 on day one. This director’s cut edition will have new cutscenes, four-player online mode, 60 unlockable characters and English voiceover.
