Games that were the biggest disappointment

While there are games that became the biggest hits, but there are also some biggest video game flops that we have seen in the gaming industry. Two were in the major limelight at the current time: Black Myth: Wukong with its tremendous success, while Concord became the biggest flop of the century.

In this article, we will look at some of the biggest flops gamers have seen in this industry, so without further ado, let’s check it out.

5. No Man’s Sky

Every player remembers when this game was released. The hype for this game was huge everywhere, and this was supposed to be a space exploration with unlimited variety.

After the launch, gamers realized that this was very repetitive, and it became one of the worst user-rated games on Steam.

4. Duke Nukem Forever

Duke Nukem Forever was announced in 2007, which was the follow-up game of Duke Nukem 3D. However, it took 14 years with many delays to finally get launched in 2014.

In these 14 years, the Xbox fans and gamers’ expectations grew much larger, and when the game went live, it was a huge disappointment. It was even worse than its previous game.

3. Superman

This game was released back in 1999 for the Nintendo 64. Its sales were very good in the initial phases, but it didn’t take very long before bad reviews started to pour in for the game. This game is also considered to be one of the biggest video game flops for the N64 gaming console.

2. E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial was released in 1982 for the Atari 2600. From the reports, it was concluded that Atari paid somewhat $20 to $25 million for the rights of E.T.

Then they gave this task to a single person to develop this game, and the time frame was only five weeks because they wanted to release this game on Christmas. They had so high expectations, but the sales were very bad, and they never recovered after that.

1. Concord

The newly released and biggest video game flops that gamers have seen. This game was 8 years in development and cost somewhat $100-200 to produce.

It received a lot of negative reviews and very weak sales. The game reached its peak with only 697 concurrent players on Steam. But the craziest part is that Sony unreleased this game not even two weeks after its release. They are even refunding everyone who purchased this, and they are shutting down the servers.
