Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced Overwatch Rush, a brand new top down mobile hero shooter set in the Overwatch universe. This surprise reveal came at the right time when the game had gone back to its origin and players currently enjoying Overwatch Season 1.

Overwatch Rush: A mobile first experience
According to Blizzard’s official blog post, this is a top-down hero shooter, which is specially designed for mobile platforms. The studio has also stated that this is not a port of Overwatch 2, but entirely a new game built from scratch for mobile players.
This project is developed separately from Team 4 (group responsible for Overwatch 2). Team 4 will be continuing to support and update the original game on PC and Console, while a different internal team will handle Overwatch Rush.
Currently, this game is in the early stages of development. It is also going under testing in select countries and regions as part of its initial rollout.
What can you expect from Overwatch Rush?
Some of the early footage revealed showcase some recognizable heroes and abilities reimagined for a top-down perspective.
The format abandons the typical first-person perspective in favor of tactical movement and fast-paced combat designed for touch controls.
