This was recently announced by the PlayStation blog and social media. This highly anticipated presentation will provide fans with a detailed look at the newest installment of the looter-shooter franchise.

Here’s everything you need to know about this State of Play event, which will be live on May 1, 2025, at 2:30 PM IST.

When and where to watch the Borderlands 4 State of Play event

This event will air on April 30, 2025, at 5:00 PM ET / 2:00 PM PT / 10:00 PM BST. For some regions, this will be on May 1, 2025.

Fans can also head to the official YouTube and Twitch channels of Sony PlayStation to watch the Borderlands 4 State of Play event.

Gearbox Software’s creative director, Graeme Timmins, and Senior Project Producer, Anthony Nicholson, will host the event, guiding viewers through developer-led gameplay.

As stated in the announcement, expect new missions, weaponry, Action Skills, and a mix of new and returning characters.

New release date for Borderlands 4

Gearbox Software has also announced a new official release date for Borderlands 4. This game will now launch on September 11, 2025.

This is 11 days earlier than its previous release date, which was September 23, 2025. This will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC and newly launched Switch 2 as well.

The pre-orders are already live for the game, with the Deluxe Edition providing early access from September 9, 2025.

What to expect from the Borderlands 4 State of Play event?

Fans can expect some new gameplay and a deep dive into Borderlands 4.

We might see signature game combat, new vault hunters, and the vibrant, cel-shaded art style running on Unreal Engine 5 for enhanced visuals.

The introduction of “killer weapons” and Action Skills hints at new mechanics, while old characters such as Lilith or Claptrap may make a cameo, linking the plot from Borderlands 3.
