Everything you need to know about the requirements
Call of Duty fans are all hyped with the official world reveal of Call of Duty Black Ops 7 at Gamescom 2025 on August 19, 2025.
New character and first gameplay are expected to be revealed at the event. Now, we also have some information which suggests that SecureBoot & TPM 2.0A are required to play the game. Let’s find out more details in this article.
Why TPM 2.0 and SecureBoot are required in Call of Duty Black Ops 7?
These are the features that are required to combat the low-level cheats and hacks, ensuring to maintain a safe and fair play environment for everyone.
TPM 2.0 is a hardware-based security chip for Windows PCs, and Secure Boot checks trusted software during startup. According to Activision’s blog post, they work together to protect your machine against hacks.
These prerequisites went into effect with Call of Duty Season 05 in August 2025; however, they are currently required for Black Ops 7.
Checking and Enabling SecureBoot
Here’s how you can do it:
- To launch the Run dialog, use the Windows key + R.
- Type msinfo32 and press Enter.
- In the System Information panel, select System Summary.
- Examine the BIOS Mode (which should be UEFI) and Secure Boot State (which should be On).
If SecureBoot is off in your device, then you need to activate it in your BIOS. If your motherboard is unsupported, EA Support recommends consulting the documentation.
Conclusion
Currently, fans can play any Call of Duty title without these requirements. But this will be different for Call of Duty Black Ops 7.
This security push is a very good initiative from the developers and EA to make sure there are fewer cheaters available in the game.
Make sure to join the Gamescom 2025 event on August 19, 2025, to watch the first world reveal of Call of Duty Black Ops 7.
