Here’s what we know about the PS5X Emulator
As of now, it’s common knowledge that you can’t run actual PS5 games on Xbox Series X or Series S. However, there is a new experimental emulator that has achieved something unimaginable.
This can run PlayStation 5 games on the Series X. The project is still in a very early stage, but it clearly shows how fast the emulation technology is evolving.
The project was built by the YouTuber Devran Cosmo Uenal and is a port of KyTy PS5 to Microsoft’s console, written in the IDE of the game’s developer.
While it’s still a long way from perfect, several PS5 games are already booting and running on PS5 with support for sound and controller input, along with the rest, which is an incredible step forward for console emulation.

This is a custom emulator called PS5X and is based on the open-source KyTy emulator. Devran Cosmo Uenal has successfully adapted the emulator to work on the Series X.
He can launch PlayStation 5 homebrew software and backup game files. Do remember that not every PlayStation 5 game is available to play.
However, the project is still in an early phase of development and there is a foundation to make improvements in the future.
Which PS5 games can run?
For now, the games are very limited; however, a handful of titles are already working. Here are the games that were shown and are working:
- GEX Trilogy
- Hellboy: Web of Wyrd
- Marvel Cosmic Invasion
- Quake II

Conclusion
For now, this is still an experimental proof of concept and it is not consumer-ready. The project is still in the early phase and we might see more progress in the future, just like the PS5 PC emulator.
Will you be able to play God of War, Spider-Man, Last of Us and other PlayStation exclusives on XBOX? We still don’t know. Let’s wait and see how well the emulator will progress and how Sony will respond.
