Solo Play in Elden Ring Nightreign
YES, you can play Elden Ring Nightreign in solo mode offline. According to Game Director Junya Ishizaki, “The game is designed to be played as a three-person team, but you can play it as a solo player.”
Players will be able to face the Night Tide and its formidable bosses without any backup, showcasing their inner Dark Souls game skills.
However, do remember that there won’t be any difficulty scaling if you are playing solo.
The map will not diminish, and the enemy will not become easier, so you will face the full force of Nightreign’s challenges alone.
It’s a true test of talent, as expected from a FromSoftware product, although Ishizaki concedes it may be “ill-advised” for the majority of players.
Despite this, we know that most of the Souls fans are going to play solo for the clips.
It’s not about how many times you lose, it’s about how many tries it takes to finally be able to learn your enemy’s attack pattern. This is true Dark Souls game thinking.
If you don’t like this, then you should better invite your friends and play the three-player mode.

No duos, but hope for the future
This was the true disappointment for many Souls fans. Ishizaki apologized for this blunder and hinted at potential post-launch support for two-player teams.
For the time being, it is only available in solo or three-player modes. The patch or update for Duo mode and when it will be released, have not been officially revealed yet.
No matter if you are playing with your friends and cursing each other for fumbling the boss, or sweating hard in solo mode to finally adapt like Mahoraga, Elden Ring Nightreign on May 30, 2025, is surely to provide some amazing gaming moments on the internet.
