Latest co-op adventure by Hazelight
Hazelight Studios is back again with their latest co-op game, Split Fiction, which is currently out right now. If you have played A Way Out or the Game of the Year-winning It Takes Two, then this is a must play for you.
But here’s the main question that many fans have been asking. What if they don’t have anyone to play with? Can they still enjoy this game solo? Let’s check out more details in this article.
Can you go Solo in Split Fiction?
Let’s get straight to the point, the answer is, “NO.” You can’t play Split Fiction solo. Hazelight studios is all about the co-op magic and this game also sticks with that script.
The game is designed from the ground up for cooperative play, with Mio and Zoe teaming together to explore sci-fi and fantasy worlds. According to the official FAQ, the developers confirmed: “This is a co-op-only game uniquely tailored for two friends to play together.”
Even AI teammates don’t exist as a second player in the game. So, if you want to play this game, you must play with your friends or someone.
There are no random matchmaking in the game as well. You have to invite your friend or someone to join you online or offline.

Do you both need to buy it?
This is the best thing about the Hazelight Studios. They mainly focus on making games enjoyable for the players. There is a friend pass system through which you only need one copy of the Split Fiction. Buy the game, email your friend the pass, and you’re both ready to play—no more purchases required.
So far, the reviews have been really good for this game and this is the first EA game to get a 90+ Metacritic score in thirteen years. The last game that received this rating was Mass Effect 3.
