Sad news for Xbox and PlayStation fans
New 5v5 hero shooter game by Bad Guitar Studio, FragPunk console release has been delayed before the launch. Originally scheduled for a global premiere on March 6, 2025, across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, the Bad Guitar Studio team announced on March 4 that the console versions will be delayed indefinitely.
Fans and players on PC will be able to dive in straight from tomorrow, however, the console fans have to wait for the new release date. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Reason behind the delay?
FragPunk’s official X account announced this recently where the team shared the bad news with its fans. “During the console compliance testing process, we hit unexpected technical hurdles in optimization and adaptation,” they explained.
It appears that rather than rushing and providing a game with bugs and poor optimization, they are sticking to delaying the game and improving the quality for the console players. This is a good decision taken by the team.
For now, they have not announced the official release date for the console. We will keep you guys updated with all the latest information.

Compensation for FragPunk console fans
The studio isn’t leaving fans with just the bad news as they have decided to compensate the console players:
- Season 1 Rewards: On day one, PS5 and Xbox players will receive all engagement bonuses, such as weapon skins and bundles, from the start of the PC Season 1 until the console launch.
- Pre-Order Perks: Cancelled pre-orders receive $10 in-game currency as a consolation award.
This delay, announced only two days before the debut, raises concerns, especially given that console marketing videos aired hours earlier. Whether there are technical issues, FragPunk will have its PC debut, and console players may expect a polished experience in the near future.
