Cartethyia Wuthering Waves: 5-Star character debut in version 2.4

The time has arrived as Kuro Games has officially revealed Cartethyia, a highly anticipated 5-star character, for Wuthering Waves Version 2.4.

This was done via drip marketing post on May 7, 2025. Fleurdelys, the Blessed Maiden of Rinascita, will make her appearance in the update’s first phase, most likely on June 12, 2025.

Cartethyia’s role and release in version 2.4

Our newest character is a key figure in Rinascita’s lore, tied to the Sentinel Imperator and Threnodian Leviathan.

The post-drip marketing also hints at her power: “The powers of the Sentinel and Threnodian clash and unite within her, propelling her into an uncertain future.”

Her splash image depicts both her youthful and adult forms, implying a distinct transformation mechanism, presumably activated by her Resonance Liberation or Forte-charged Skill.

As a 5-star unit, she’s intended to compete with top-tier characters like Jinhsi, making her a must-have for players.

She is slated for Version 2.4’s first phase, expected to launch around June 12, 2025, following the Version 2.3 banner cycle ending May 22.

Expected attribute and weapon

For now, Kuro Games has not confirmed yet, but leaks suggest that it might be related to an Aero unit wielding a Sword.

Her in-game appearances, including cutscenes in Chapter II: Act III, depict her wielding a blade, which matches her agile, authoritative personality.

Official information on her element and weapon is anticipated to follow soon, as Kuro Games normally provides this information quickly after drip marketing.

Her Aero-based kit, paired with a suspected dual-form playstyle, could provide adaptable DPS mechanics that use Aero Erosion to deal high burst damage.

Leaks for her kit also suggest a “Twin Resonance” mechanic. You will be able to switch between a fast, fluid small form and a powerful adult form, potentially dipping into Glacio during transformation.
