The Pearl Abyss are the Korean developers responsible for developing the upcoming action RPG game Crimson Desert, which recently rejected Sony’s demand.

Sony’s timed exclusivity deal for Crimson Desert

The reports say that Sony wanted to stop the game release of Crimson Desert on the Xbox consoles for a limited period. However, the Pearl Abyss have said no to their request and the game will be released on all the platforms at the same time.

There have been rumors since the past year that this game is to be a PS5 exclusive, however, now it seems that rumors were not true at all.

Sony praises the game

According to the insider reports, Sony has praised the game and has even compared it to Ghost of Tsushima. This might be an attempt to make Pearl Abyss accept their offer, however, they still got rejected. There is still no exact release date for the game yet, however, the Korean developers recently showcased the new gameplay on YouTube.

Potential 2025 Spring release?

So far, the only information we know is that the game will be released in 2025. But now, according to this insider report, it is suggested that the game might be released in Spring 2025 or Q2 2025.

For the platforms, fans can expect this game to be available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC.

The game was originally supposed to be a prequel to Black Desert Online, however, Pearl Abyss later scraped that idea.

The Crimson Desert game takes place on the continent of Pywel but in the same high fantasy realm as Black Desert Online. According to the Pearl Abyss website, Pywel is a “vast but divided continent” through which you will journey as mercenary Kliff Macduff.
