The fans are excited as the CS2 IEM Rio 2024 is finally here and more details about this tournament have been revealed. The top 16 teams will battle against each other for the $250,000 prize money.

The group stages are scheduled to start from October 7, 2024. The 16 teams who are participating have been divided into two groups who will first battle in the group stages. The tournament will end on October 13, 2024.

• NaVi vs Rare Atom 12:00 BRT/17:00 CEST
• Team Liquid vs Complexity 12:00 BRT/17:00 CEST

Full Format Explained

The full format is finally out on Liquipedia for the CS2 IEM Rio 2024.

Group Stage

1. Two double-elimination format (GSL) Groups:

• Each group has eight teams
• Opening matches are Bo1 (best of one)
• All following matches are Bo3 (best of three)

1. The top three teams from each group advance to the Playoffs:

• Group stage winners advance to the Semifinals
• Group stage runners-up advance to the Quarterfinals as the High Seeds
• Group stage 3rd place teams advance to the Quarterfinals as the Low Seeds

Playoffs

• Single-Elimination bracket
• All matches are Bo3 (best of three)

Prize Pool Breakdown for CS2 IEM Rio 2024

The total prize pool for the tournament is $250,000. Here is the breakdown:

• 1st place: $100,000, qualification to IEM Katowice 2025
• 2nd place: $42,000
• 3rd-4th place: $20,000
• 5th-6th place: $10,000
• 7th-8th place: $6,000
• 9th-12th place: $5,000
• 13th-16th place: $4,000
