Participating teams

Here are all the teams that will be competing in the CS2 Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024:

Opening Stage Teams: FURIA, Virtus.pro, Team Liquid, Complexity, BIG, Fnatic, The MongolZ, paiN Gaming, GamerLegion, MIBR, Cloud9, FlyQuest, Passion UA, Wildcard, Rare Atom, and Imperial Esports.

Elimination Stage Teams: G2 Esports, Natus Vincere, Team Vitality, Team Spirit, MOUZ, FaZe Clan, HEROIC, and 3DMAX.

Tournament Format

• The Opening Stage, formerly known as the Challenger Stage, is a Swiss format in which 16 teams compete.
• Matches between teams with records of 0-0, 0-1, 1-0, and 1-1 are best-of-one.
• Best-of-three matches take place in elimination or progression scenarios.
• Teams must win three games to proceed to the next level while losing three games will result in elimination.
• Elimination Stage: Eight teams from the Opening Stage compete against eight pre-qualified teams in another Swiss format, with the same win-loss criteria for advancement or elimination.
• Playoff Stage: The top eight teams from the Elimination Stage advance to a single-elimination tournament, with all matches being best-of-three.

Schedule Overview

• Opening Stage: Begins on November 30, with numerous rounds stretched over several days.
• November 30 – Round 1: FURIA vs. GamerLegion, VP vs. MIBR, and so on.
• December 1 – Round 3: Times TBD
• December 2 – Round 4: Times TBD
• Round 5 will take place on December 3 (times TBD). The elimination stage will begin on December 5, with rounds planned until December 8 (times TBD).
• Playoff Stage: The dates and times for the playoff matches have yet to be announced.
