Realistic crowd system ever & more
The players have enjoyed the night city a lot in Cyberpunk 2077 and now CD Projekt RED (CDPR) is all set to set the bar high for the possible sequel of the game.
The codenamed is Project Orion and currently through the job posting, it includes what could be the “most realistic and reactive crowd system” in gaming history. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Real-life crowd
A job posting for a Lead Encounter Designer exposes CDPR’s desire to create NPC crowds that respond dynamically to player activities. This role entails working with the systems design team to create immersive experiences that accommodate a variety of playstyles.
Consider crowded streets where every passerby adjusts to your preferences—whether you’re sneaking, battling, or simply vibing. While Cyberpunk 2077’s crowds were amazing, Project Orion intends to set new standards for realism and engagement.

First-Person perspective confirmed?
Another hint that suggests the First-Person perspective is the job posting by a Senior Gameplay Animator on LinkedIn. They are seeking an expert in “immersive 1st person view model animation.”
This strongly suggests that CD Projekt RED will look forward to the first-person perspective for the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel. There is some speculation about The Witcher 4 as well, but it seems that game will follow its traditional third-person perspective.
Fans looking for a third-person option may be out of luck, while CDPR has not formally ruled it out. With Phantom Liberty cementing the franchise’s first-person focus, this decision seems like a natural progression.
Project Orion, announced in 2022, is being constructed on Unreal Engine 5, and the team is now in the “conceptual design” phase as of mid-2024. CDPR has bolstered its ranks with talent from Ubisoft Massive, Blizzard, BioWare, and Insomniac Games, indicating ambitious goals. The studio pledges to unleash the “full power and potential of the Cyberpunk universe,” but story and setting specifics remain unknown.
Although not officially announced, we can predict from Witcher 4 platforms that the new Cyberpunk 2077 sequel will only be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
