The main information and what exactly this Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.2 will have is still under wraps. However, it will be revealed in the live stream that you can watch live on cdprojektred (Twitch channel) and CyberpunkGame (YouTube) on December 10, 2024, at 5 PM CET, 9:30 pm IST.

This stream will mark the fourth anniversary of the game and fans can expect some new features with the new update. CD Projekt Red’s Global Community Director, Marcin Momot, also commented, “The team still has some gas in the tank.” This indicates that they are not done with the Cyberpunk game for now.

Now there was speculation that this update might be related to the PS5 Pro enhancement or New Game+, however, it has already been cleared that this will not be part of update 2.2.

This announcement comes after CD Projekt Red has reached several major milestones. Recently, they said that The Witcher 4, codenamed Project Polaris, has entered full development with a large team of 400 developers, accounting for 61% of the company’s staff. Meanwhile, 64 developers are working on Project Orion, the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.

The game was financially very successful as it has already sold more than 30 million copies in the last four years. Also, the Phantom Liberty expansion has sold 8 million copies which indicates that gamers and fans will still play the game if they get any new updates. So now, there is a possibility that we might get some new missions or expansion with this new update.
