Insomniac denies using generative AI

This viral claim and controversy started when one X user, Rock Solid, posted an in-game screenshot of a bathroom sign that features distorted character icons.

This post quickly started to get more attention and many fans started to claim that Insomniac Games must have used generative AI in the game’s development.

In response to this, Insomniac Games Community Director James Stevenson clarified in the comment section that this image was not AI-generated.

No. This is a UV map bug and we have a fix coming. There are no AI generated assets in Marvel’s Wolverine.

According to James Stevenson, this issue was created due to a UV map bug. This is a common graphical problem that can affect how the textures are displayed.
