EA Sports FC has now officially revealed the EA FC 27 The Grounds deep dive, where they showcased the new open-world social hub game mode.

This mode is an extension of the revamped Clubs experience. It combines competitive football with social space, variety, side activities, mini-games, live events and more.

In this mode, there are a lot of things that you can do. Let’s check out every mode and activity in this article.

Club leagues & Playoffs return in EA FC 27 The Grounds

The Club experience is going to remain in The Grounds. You can now visit The Clubhouse, where you can participate in Club Leagues and Playoffs.

Your performances across matches will contribute to your club’s seasonal progress and will unlock rewards.

One of the biggest additions to EA FC 27 The Grounds is the Club live events. They will feature large 11v11 tournaments against other clubs.

The events bring in rotating rules, various tournament formats and special prizes. In addition to this, matches can have special House Rules, for example:

  • Mystery Ball
  • King of the Hill
  • No Rules
  • Headers & Volleys
  • Survival
  • Long Range

Stadium Drop-In and Small-Sided matches

If you are looking for quick matches, then you can join the Stadium Drop-In matchmaking. This includes Rush, Rush Live Tournaments, and traditional 11v11 Drop-In matches.

Kickabouts & casual football

If you don’t want to play football competitively in EA FC 27 The Grounds, then you can try Kickabouts that will have several arcade-style mini-games. These games mix football with other sports and part game mechanics. Here are the confirmed activities:

  • Team Keepaway – A 3v3 possession-focused match where holding the ball is the key to victory.
  • The Big Race – An obstacle-course dribbling competition.

  • Bucket Ball – A basketball-inspired football mode where teams score using hoops instead of goals.
  • Balloon Ball – A chaotic survival game where players protect balloons attached to their character while bursting opponents’ balloons.
  • Goal Control – A tactical 1v1 mode where players capture and defend multiple goals across the pitch.
