After 12 years as a staple MMORPG, The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) is shaking off its stale and dead reputation by delivering a massive overhaul.
ZeniMax Online Studios has officially announced the Tamriel Tomes, which is a new battle pass type system, all set to launch on April 2, 2026, alongside season zero.
This aligns with all future content, such as additional zones, tales, and systems, becoming free for base game owners, thus replacing paid chapters with a live-service model.
What is Tamriel Tomes Battle Pass in Elder Scrolls Online?
Tamriel Tomes combines ESO Endeavors and Daily Login Rewards into a seasonal progression system. Players gain Tome Points by completing challenges that unlock pages of prizes, stressing player choice: do what you want, when you want.
The first Tome of Dawn and Dusk focuses on adventures, Khajiiti armor, and a supernatural wolf. Everyone can use it for free, with possible paid upgrades for additional features.
There will be a paid and free version of the battle pass. ZeniMax has also promised that it will not be a pay-to-win game, so users don’t have to worry about anything.

- Free Track: Kireth’s Dungeon Delve armor, Vigor skill style, Mesa Stalker weapons, 8,000 Seals, 9,000 Trade Bars, Crown Crates.
- Premium (~$15): Winterhold Empyrean Wolf mount, Monster Slayer personality, Duo-Dynamo Spider mount, extra Trade Bars.
- Premium+ Bonuses (~$30): Raynor’s Traveling Robes costume, Tome Point caches.
