Battlestate Games has now officially confirmed that the Escape from Tarkov first season, a major update for this extraction shooter game, will drop in July 2026.
This new season is titled Kord Breach, which is going to introduce a fresh progression system, seasonal characters, gameplay modifiers & Black Division cosmetics.
This official announcement was made during the latest TarkovTV broadcast, where the studio head Nikita Buyanov explained more about the seasonal structure.

For the first time in this game’s history, players will be able to create dedicated season characters alongside their standard permanent profiles.
According to the developers, each season is going to feature a unique progression system for the players and gameplay experience. Their permanent characters will remain untouched.
These seasons are also expected to last around 74 days and there might be some future adjustments that can be made accordingly.
Kord Breach focuses on the Black Division
Escape from Tarkov first season, Kord Breach, is going to centre around the mysterious Black Division faction. They were first teased before the Tarkov 1.0 launch in November 2025.
Fans and players can expect:
- New Black Division-themed clothing
- Seasonal progression systems
- Exclusive cosmetic rewards
- New gameplay mechanics tied to the faction
Black Division faction outfits are very highly requested by the community since their reveal and now they will finally arrive in the next major update of the game.
